The purpose of the Student Council shall be to provide service and leadership to the College of Dentistry students, clubs and organizations as a non-profit representative governing body.
A 4th year Doctor of Dental Surgery candidate at Howard University College of Dentistry. As a first-generation Nigerian-American raised in a predominantly Hispanic populated area of Phoenix, Arizona she was drawn to the diversity and emphasis on clinical cultural competency experienced at Howard. In addition to having the honor to serve as HUCD Student Council President, Ibifuro enjoys remaining active in the many other extracurricular and community service organizations HUCD has to offer. She enjoys seeing the physical and emotional impact that dentistry has on her patients in clinic. Upon graduation, Ibifuro plans to matriculate into a pediatric dentistry residency where she hopes to play a large role in oral health education and preventive dentistry as a pediatric dentist.
A 4th year Doctor of Dental Surgery Candidate from Long Island, New York, attended Molloy College for his undergraduate studies. While in dental school, he’s held numerous leadership positions including Vice-President for the Class of 2020, President of American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD), and President of ASDA. Currently he serves as Vice-President of the Student Council and is Mr. HUCD. Through the various roles and positions he has learned that a good leader must remain determined, skilled, and driven to get the job done. but a great leader is one who’s actions inspire others to work with them.
Adetounmi Adeyemisi Thomas
A 3rd year Doctor of Dental Surgery Candidate. Before her time at Howard, she received her undergraduate degree from the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas and completed a post baccalaureate program through Texas A&M College of Dentistry. Currently, serving as the Recording Secretary of the HUCD Student Council. She is also on the executive board of various organizations at HUCD such as SNDA, Delta Phi Sigma Sorority, Incorporated, AAWD and Pre-Alumni Association. She is very passionate about photography and enjoys capturing great moments. She is grateful to be a part of the Howard Community, advocating on behalf of the students.
A 2nd year Doctor of Dental Surgey Candidate and serves as the Student Council Corresponding Secretary. He earned his Bachelors of Science degree in Cell and Molecular Biology from West Chester University of Pennsylvania. After he moved from Ethiopia at the age of 11, Lancaster PA was the place he called home. Elias loves the process of expanding his knowledge and skills in the field of dentistry to one day be a skillful and passionate dental professional.
A 3rd year Doctor of Dental Surgery Candidate from Virginia Beach, VA. She received her Bachelor’s degree from Virginia Commonwealth University. She currently serves as the Treasurer for Student Council, Vice President for the D3 class, Vice President and co-founder of DentFit and Student Council Representative for the Student Research Group. In her spare time she loves to binge watch The Handmaid’s Tale and work out.
A 3rd year Doctor of Dental Surgey Candidate, born in Nigeria, raised in Jackson, Mississippi. He attended Howard University for my undergraduate studies and finished with a B.S. in Biology. Currently he serves as GSA representative of student council. Previously, he was Programs Co-Chairman in Delta Mu Chi Fraternity and served as D2 class representative for the Student National Dental Association. He is passionate about providing world class service as an oral health care provider.
A 3rd year Doctor of Dental Surgery Candidate from Chicago, Illinois who has been a very active student here at Howard University College of Dentistry. Throughout his tenure here in the college of dentistry, Ryan has taken on leadership roles in multiple organizations including Student Council HUSA Senator, Public Relations Chairman of Class 2021, SNDA D-1 Representative as well as becoming a member of Delta Mu Chi Fraternity Inc. Ryan currently serves as the SNDA Vice President as well as Student Council GSA Representative for the college of dentistry. Ryan continues to work hard for the college of dentistry because he considers Howard University to be his educational home.
