Each May, commencement ceremonies are held on the main campus of Howard University. The Commencement ceremony celebrates the accomplishments of all graduating students from degree-granting programs across the University. The College of Dentistry's Honors and Awards Ceremony also occurs during Commencement Week Activities.

Howard’s Commencement activities garner crowds of thousands, and the numerous elders and children regularly in attendance, we will provide every effort to avoid the potential for additional virus spread which would be problematic.

The College of Dentistry's Hooding and Conferral of Degrees ceremonies during commencement week will take place

Thursday May 6th, 2 p.m.

Under normal circumstances, the tickets to the graduation ceremony would be distributed by the graduate to the people he/she would want to come in the weeks leading up to the event.

However, Covid-19 has moved the hooding ceremony to an online format where it is live-streamed via YouTube.  The conferral of degrees ceremony will take place at Cramton auditorium.  Guests will not be allowed to attend in person.

On the bright side, this means that an unlimited number of friends and family members can watch the event as it is happening.
